Laparoscopic Management of a Large Ovarian Cyst Twist in a 14-Year Old Young Girl in Emergency: A Case Report

The diagnosis and the treatment of twisted ovarian tumors are still challenging, especially in adolescent girls. We describe an girl with a cyst, whom emergent laparoscopic surgery was successful. She visited us due to severe abdominal pain. Ultrasound revealed large cystic mass, indicative cyst. Laparoscopy left cyst on its axis. punctured detorsed it. lessons learned here are: sudden-onset pain associated nausea vomiting is strongly suggestive torsion; ultrasound should be performed immediately, if torsion suspected, timely intervention diagnostic laparoscopy indicated, minimally invasive surgical approach recommended preserve adnexal structures function.
